PPIG 2009 Report

By Jim Buckley

The 21st PPIG was held in the University of Limerick from the 24th to the 26th of June this year. Surprisingly, the sun shone for the whole 3 days of the conference, a sequence of dry weather that hasn’t been seen in Limerick since 1427.

The competition for the workshop this year was to develop a Limerick about your PPIG presentation or about PPIG in general. Many took to this task very enthusiastically (thanks Lutz), and this workshop report is interspersed (littered?) with their efforts.

Adhering to a special type of rhythm and rhyming style
Because of these tricks
The verses are called limericks
And really good ones can make people break into a smile

PPIG 2008 Report: When PPIG had a spiritual experience

By Alison hull

The 20th Annual Workshop of Psychology of Programming was held at the University of Lancaster. The campus itself is located just south of the City of Lancaster, which is in the North West of England. The campus is set in country surroundings, which is emphasised when entering the campus via the main approach road with the roadside sign of "Warning Ducks Crossing" (not a road sign commonly found on a city centre campus!).
